La Asociación Alianza Informativa Latinoamericana se prepara para celebrar su XVI Cumbre Anual, los días 12, 13 y 14 de junio. El evento se realizará en la ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, en España, y será organizado por la Radio y Televisión Canaria, en el marco de la celebración de sus 25 años de operación.
La Cumbre es el evento anual más importante de la Asociación y este año tiene una connotación especial, es el primer encuentro como una organización legalmente constituida y es la primera vez que se realizará por fuera de América Latina y El Caribe.
En esta oportunidad, la XVI Cumbre Anual contará con la participación de los 22 canales asociados y representantes de importantes organizaciones de comunicación a nivel mundial como: la Voz de América (VOA), la agencia de noticias ENEX, la Unión Africana de Radiodifusión (AUB), la Radio y Televisión Pública de Cabo Verde y la agencia de noticias China CCTV+.
La XVI Cumbre Anual, también, contará con la participación de distintos profesionales del área de comunicación, quienes compartirán sus conocimientos y experiencia en temas fundamentales para el periodismo en la actualidad, como el uso responsable de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) y el futuro del periodismo televisivo. Durante la Cumbre, se realizará la premiación de la IX Edición de los Premios Iris América, un concurso organizado por la Alianza junto con la Academia de Televisión y de las Ciencias y Artes del Audiovisual de España. El concurso premia los mejores trabajos periodísticos emitidos en 2023 por los canales asociados, en las categorías de: mejor historia en televisión, mejor trabajo investigativo y mejor reportaje de última hora.

The Latin American News Alliance Association is preparing to hold its XVI Annual Summit on June 12, 13 and 14. The event will be held in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, and will be organized by Radio y Televisión Canaria, as part of the celebration of its 25 years of operation.
The Summit is the Association’s most important annual event and this year has a special connotation: it is the first meeting as a legally constituted organization and the first time it will be held outside Latin America and the Caribbean.
On this occasion, the XVI Annual Summit will be attended by the 22 associated channels and representatives of important worldwide communication organizations such as: the Voice of America (VOA), the ENEX news agency, the African Broadcasting Union (AUB), Cape Verde Public Radio and Television and the Chinese news agency CCTV+.
The XVI Annual Summit will also feature the participation of different professionals in the area of communication, who will share their knowledge and experience on key issues for journalism today, such as the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the future of television journalism. During the Summit, the IX Edition of the Iris America Awards, a contest organized by the Alliance together with the Academy of Television and Audiovisual Arts and Sciences of Spain, will be awarded. The contest rewards the best journalistic works broadcasted in 2023 by the associated channels, in the categories of: best television story, best investigative work and best breaking news report.
